How do I request samples?

Use the inquiry form or WhatsApp, and name the instruments (pattern and size) and the steel line you would order. Asking for the tier you will actually buy matters: a sample in a better steel than the order is a sample of a different product.
What should I check on a sample?
A practical checklist for a distributor's first inspection:
Pattern and size. Does it match the pattern name and length you asked for?
Joint and action. Does it open and close smoothly, without play? Does a ratchet hold at each step and release cleanly?
Jaws, tips and edges. Do the tips meet (alignment)? Do serrations mesh? Does a cutting edge cut cleanly along its length?
Finish. Is it the finish of the line you asked for (satin, fine polish or mirror)? Any pits, grinding marks or discoloration?
Marking. Is the mark correct and legible: TGI, unmarked, or your own brand?
Corrosion. Many buyers run their own boil test or sterilization cycles on a sample; it is where a steel, grinding or passivation fault shows first.
What happens when I approve?
For a catalog order, the steel tier you approved is the steel tier you receive, on this order and on repeat orders; it is written into the order. For an OEM order, TGI proposes the specification and puts it to you in writing before anything is made, and you approve the product before mass production begins.
What if the sample is not right?
On an OEM order: if the sample is not right, it is changed and made again. Production does not start until it matches what you asked for. How long the prototype and revision loop takes, and where the advance falls against it, are agreed per order.
When does the production clock start?
Instruments ~2-3 weeks · full sets ~4-6 weeks after advance. On an OEM order the lead time runs from your approval of the sample; prototyping and revision rounds sit before it.
And after production?
You see it again before you pay the balance. Video proof reaches you before packaging, during packaging, and before the goods ship: the instruments themselves as they are packed, then your finished parcel at the shipping office. So the last check against your approved sample happens on camera, before the balance is released.
