Match the tier to the customer who will use the instrument. Economy (AISI 410) is for training, veterinary and volume tenders; Clinical (AISI 420) for hospitals and general distribution; Premium (AISI 420-440C) for quality-focused distributors and private label; Executive (AISI 440C) for an OEM flagship or top private-label line. The pattern stays the same across all four; the steel, the finish and how much of the batch is inspected change.
What stays the same across the four tiers?
The tier is not a grade of care: every instrument is made on the same line, by the same people. Every tier is passivated. The pattern, the size and the marking you choose are the same whichever tier you order.
What changes?
Line: Economy; Steel: AISI 410; Steel from: Pakistani or Taiwanese mills; Finish: satin, passivated; Inspection: sample: visual + dimensional; Typical buyer: training institutes, veterinary, volume / UN-NGO tenders.
Line: Clinical; Steel: AISI 420; Steel from: Pakistani or German mills; Finish: satin, passivated; Inspection: sample + boil test; Typical buyer: hospitals, distributors.
Line: Premium; Steel: AISI 420-440C; Steel from: German or Japanese mills; Finish: fine polish, passivated; Inspection: tighter sample + hardness test; Typical buyer: quality-focused distributors, private label.

Carbon content rises across the three instrument grades, and with it the hardness the instrument can hold. That matters most where an edge or a jaw has to keep its bite through repeated sterilization. See the note "How the steel grades actually differ".
Which tier for which customer?
Selling to training institutes, veterinary practices or volume tenders? Economy is the line those buyers usually take.
Supplying hospitals and clinics through general distribution? Clinical, the AISI 420 line with a boil test on the sample.
Building a quality or private-label range? Premium, with a finer polish and a hardness test on a tighter sample.
Launching a flagship under your own brand? Executive: AISI 440C, mirror polish, every instrument inspected, laser marked.
Carrying two lines? TGI's recommendation for an importer or distributor who stocks two is Clinical plus Premium: a hospital line in AISI 420, and a quality or private-label line in AISI 420-440C, the same patterns in both.
Does the tier affect the guarantee?
Yes. One-year guarantee on Premium and Executive tier instruments, hollowware and sterilization containers: any technical manufacturing defect, including material faults and rust, is replaced free of charge. Damage from handling or accidents is not covered. The replacement terms for a defective or wrong delivery (report within 7 days with video and photographs) apply to every tier.
Can the tier change between orders?
The steel tier you approved is the steel tier you receive, on this order and on repeat orders: it is written into the order. A different steel origin can be supplied on request (a lower grade in Japanese steel, for example), agreed on your order.
How do I decide without guessing?
Order free samples of one pattern in two tiers, give them to one customer who buys from you now, and ask which they would reorder. Free samples for all buyers: you pay only the sample shipping cost. Samples dispatched within 48 hours.
